Residential Leak Test
Adding Refrigerant to System and Leak Testing Policy
Leaks with under two pounds of refrigerant loss – We will top off the refrigerant charge up to two pounds without a leak test, unless the system has had refrigerant added within the last six months prior to visit, if so no additional refrigerant will be added to system and a leak test will be required and repairs made before any additional refrigerant will be added to system.
Leaks with over two pounds of refrigerant loss – We will add a maximum of up to 2-lbs of refrigerant to a system. Once the 2-lbs limit is reached no additional refrigerant will be added to system until a leak test is performed and leak repaired.
Leak Test Cost – Cost will vary depending on type of leak test required. Customer will be informed of type needed and cost before test is performed.
(Typical electronic leak test while on site $44.00 to $88.00 plus Diagnostic Fee per system if system still has enough refrigerant pressure to perform proper leak test. If system is found not to have insufficient pressure to perform test, nitrogen leak test may be required at a cost of $150-$200.00 per system.)
